Overview

Vault ("we", "our", or "the App") is a personal firearms inventory and range-session tracker for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it. We are committed to protecting your privacy and designed Vault from the ground up so that your data stays on your device.

The short version: Vault stores everything locally on your iPhone using Apple's standard secure storage (AsyncStorage). Nothing leaves your device unless you manually export or back up your phone yourself.

Information We Collect

Vault does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. The data you enter into the App — including firearm details, serial numbers, range session logs, and photos — is stored exclusively on your device using iOS secure local storage.

The App may access the following device features only when you explicitly grant permission:

You may deny these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. Denying access simply prevents you from attaching photos; all other features continue to work normally.

How We Use Information

Because all data remains on your device, there is no server-side processing of your information. Data entered into Vault is used solely to display your firearm inventory, range session history, and maintenance statistics within the App.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer your information to third parties. We have no access to the data you store in Vault. Because data never leaves your device through our systems, there is nothing for us to share.

If you use Apple's iCloud Backup feature, your device data — including data stored by Vault — may be included in those backups. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not ours.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained on your device for as long as the App is installed. You can delete individual firearms and range sessions within the App at any time. To remove all data associated with Vault, uninstall the App from your device. iOS will erase all locally stored app data upon uninstallation.

Children's Privacy

Vault is not directed at children under the age of 17 and is intended for use by adults in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local firearms laws. We do not knowingly collect any information from users under 17. If you believe a minor has used the App, please contact us so we can address the situation.

Security

Data is stored using iOS's standard application data storage, which benefits from the security features built into the iOS operating system, including device encryption. Because no data is transmitted to external servers, the attack surface is limited to physical access to your device. We recommend using a strong device passcode and enabling Face ID or Touch ID.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
